Gaspra is situated in 10 km form Yalta. “Aspro” means “white” in Greek. The village appeared in the middle of the XVIII century. The climate here is subtropical.
The most famous building in Crimea – the Swallow’s Nest, built in 1912 in medieval castle style is situated in Gaspra. Nowadays an expensive Italian food restaurant is situated in the Swallow’s Nest. Another places of interest are Roman fortress Harakas, big tavrian necropolises of the V-I centuries BC, Palace of countess Panina .
Beaches in Gaspra are pebbled and very comfortable. There are many cafes, small supermarkets, restaurants. Post office, drug store, photo center, excursion office.
