Sudak was founded in 212. After in 1365 it was captured by Genoese, the town became a big center of the world’s trading ways.
Sudak’s meadow lies in the surrounding of the picturesque mountains with odd battlements which protect Sudak from cold winds. The beach is quartz sand and pebble.
Genoese fortress is the symbol of Sudak. It was built in XIV-XV centuries. The fortress is situated on the cone-shaped mountain of 150 meters high and abruptly plucks off from the south side to the sea. The whole fortress is a museum at the area of 30 hectares. Sudak is also famous for the publishing-house museum, National botanical reserve, Funk’s mansion and others.
